HOUSTON, OCTOBER 12, 2004 -- Air Routing International (booth No.8800), a worldwide leader in corporate flight handling to the business aviation industry, has added flight plan plotting to its AiRMET® global weather reporting site that has been used by aviators since 1985.

Users can now import their flight plans whether from Air Routing’s Flight Manager™ program or any other flight planning program they are using and have the ability to plot their route of flight on top of AiRMET® (www.airmet.com) graphics charts.

“There has been tremendous interest from clients who want to input their flight plans and overlay their route on top of weather charts that display wind velocity and air turbulence among other things,” said Jim Rouse, Air Routing’s IT manager. “Clients want to make sure that while they may be flying on the most expeditious route time-wise and fuel-wise, they also want to be sure that they are not traveling through inclement weather which they surely don’t appreciate.”
Most of Air Routing’s clients are international flyers, Rouse explained. “With all of the international charts Air Routing has worldwide, this level of product offering definitely interests our clients.”
An additional product enhancement to AiRMET® provides Internet links to key sites such as U.S. traffic control status, flow control advisories and airport closures.
